In MY20 Merida took stick for using a frame with external cable routing at the entry-level. The 15D was unfavourably compared to prettier internally cabled frames from the competition. The Shimano hubs, Shimano hydraulic brakes and Shimano chainset didn’t get a mention!
For MY21 Merida upgraded all-Big Nine and Big Seven to a new TFS frame with internal cable routing and very low standover height but as you would expect, kept the same Shimano led high-quality approach.
Merida’s heartland has always been bombproof aluminium hardtails. Here Merida use their TFS frame with full internal cable routing, a tapered headtube and inboard disc brake mounts.
Perfectly matching the modern frame they have gone for a 2 x set up and retain our focus on using Shimano components wherever possible.
